Soccer and Football

The fall season of soccer is underway.  This year S. is back on the field along with A. S. is actually playing coed soccer. At first she was not to happy about this change. Playing with boys just seemed weird and dumb. After last weeks practice her opinion seems to be changing. I saw an actual for real smile on her face. When I asked her how practice went, she said... wait for it.... "GOOD!"  No whining, no complaining, no vague answers. An honest to goodness happy answer. I almost fell down. One day I will write a post about living in a house with two teenage daughters..  A. is on a U14 team and I swear it was just yesterday that he played U8. Now he is on the big boy team. Crazy! S. and A. are also working as refs for a near by region. They are gaining some work experience and learning how to be yelled at. I feel like I have properly prepared them for this job. Last Week of Summer

I can already feel the bite of autumn in the early morning. We have begun the final countdown of summer days. How can it be time for school already? This year promises to be one of the busiest years of my life. I pray that I am up to the challenge. The kids will be at three different schools. S. and A. will be able to ride the bus and Al will be able to walk, but H. will have to be driven. I will go back to work and Brent’s schedule at work is getting busier. All of the balls are up in the air as we prepare to handle the kids’ lives, a new program for H., football, soccer, piano, swim, government, and school. Meanwhile, I am finishing my bachelor degree. At the age of 36 I am six classes away from holding a diploma. Part of that diploma requires I student teach. I have been asked by a principal to student teach at his school. It is an honor to be asked the only thing that worries me is that it will be about a 20-minute drive. My mind continues to race at how all of these ba...
