Okay, so I have not forgotten about this here blog. I have not forgotten that I put a contest up. I have not forgotten that at least 7 of you are waiting for an answer. What I have forgotten is how delicious and wonderful the sun is. Every time I sit down to post the sun calls me. I think about how I should start. I type a word or two or three. Then the sun gets louder. "It's warm come and play, come and play." I then give up go outside and enjoy the beautiful, wonderful, awesome, sun. Have I mentioned how much I love the sun? In this house there are 3 Ipods. I have one which is one of the first generations of IPODS. In fact when the kids I work with see my IPOD they laugh and grab it and go around the whole pool saying, "Look at Krissi's IPOD look at how huge it is!" "Have you ever seen anything this big?" Then they gleefully dig through my play list to see what kind of music old people listen to. I could be insulted. Except for the fact that every now and then they like my music and then I feel young. Totally worth the ridicule. The second IPOD belongs to S. and the third belongs to A. All of the IPODS are updated on one computer all of the music is pulled from one library. One of the features of ITunes is keeping track of how many times each song is played. When I was the only one updating my IPOD I never really payed much attention to this feature. Today is January 2, 2009. Which means my, "No Sugar Contest,” ended two days ago. In the end I flubbed all over the place. The closer it got to Christmas the more goodies that rolled in the house. The weaker my resolve became. I was a very naughty girl! Just being honest here. However, prior to the week before Christmas, I was a very good girl. So I'm giving myself a break! I can do that right? I have decided to start the, "No Sugar" diet again. Except this time it won’t be a contest for you. Just a personal goal for me to say away from sugar. I really did feel better not eating sugar. I also noticed the huge side effect of my children eating less junk. It is the first of the year, so you know, no matter how much I say I'm not going to set a specific weight loss goal. The one thing I WANT to do is set a specific weight loss goal. Well in a little less then 24 hours I am going to have to reset this counter.  I can hardly believe that it says 30 days.  I have to tell you I never thought I would make it this many days I really thought I would have to reset it at some point in time. It has been a huge motivation for me knowing that you guys are watching the counter.  Also, knowing that even if you didn't catch me in the time allowed you would see that I punked.  That I didn't have the self control, not to eat sugar. Every time I would think of eating a goodie, I would think about reseting the clock.  I would wonder who was online, I would wonder if I would get caught, I would wonder who would catch me.  By the time I got through thinking about all of that I would decide the treat wasn't worth it. Another motivation has been my kids, who have said, "Mom you don't have to reset the counter no one would know."  I wanted them to see that  I could be honest and not do something I shouldn't ...

Something you may not know about me is that I ♥ Halloween.  Yes, out of all the holidays Halloween is my favorite.  It has a lot to do with dressing up to be whoever you want and the whole give me candy. "Big Sigh" on that one this year. Being as Halloween is my favorite my family goes a little overboard. (ok, ok, I go a little overboard) Much to Brent's chagrin, who frankly does not share my ummm, well, enthusiasm. Halloween usually turns into several days of celebration.  Starting with the city carnival.  This is usually the night the kids make their costume debut. S. went from being a cute witch to a pretty witch when did she get so old on me ? As you can see A. has moved into the I want to be something scary stage.  Al calls this a punk rock pirate . You have all been so great.  I can't tell you how motivational it has been knowing that I am being watched.  Also, I totally don't want to punk out in less then 48 hours that would just be sad.   I  had to laugh tonight as I was walking out of pack meeting a friend's husband said, "Hey Krissi, did you see those cookies and donuts in there?"  I laughed and said, "You have been reading my blog haven't you?" I am going to make a promise to all my out of town competitors, I promise not to eat sweets right in front of friends who know about the contest.  That would just be unfair.  Nope I will eat sweets in the dark corners of my home.  Where no one can see me.  That is healthy, right? Here are the rules: **Below is a counter of how many hours and soon to be days since I last ate sugar.   Currently my definition of eating sugar is: Candy, cookies, cake anything that you would call a goody also I am cutting "high fructose corn syrup" out of my breakfast and lunch menu. In order to pick a totally random winner I went to R andom .org . I input the following, choose 1 number between 1 and 5.  The winner corresponds to the order of the post. I have decided to hold a contest.  Well actually I have decided to unclutter and you my readers are the lucky recipients of my efforts.  I am going to mail the "lucky" winner Christopher Paolini's "Eragon" book on CD.   Whenever, we drive back and forth to California we like to listen to a book on CD.  Sometimes we are able to get a book we want from the library and sometimes we have to buy it.  This is one of those buy times.  The book has been listened to twice and all the CD's should be in good working order.   The kids really enjoyed the book but truthfully I was not a big "Eragon" fan.  I did however love "Eldest," and I am looking forward to the next book in the series coming out in September.  Andrew and Samantha are also excited.  If you travel anywhere I would  recommend listening to a book.  It may be tricky coming up with something the whole family would enjoy (we try to find books that are going to be movies and bribe them wit...
