The Mind is Everything

I know, I know... I have basically disappeared from the blogging world. I think about blogging, I have whole list of ideas for post but no motivation. Writers block? Blog Burnout? I'm pretty sure it is a combination of the above, and the hustle and bustle of life. The kids are getting bigger the days of being at home and watching WAY to many episodes of Winnie the Pooh are gone. I know that you have heard me grumble, complain, and whimper about this subject far too many times. Which I think is another reason to add to the reasons why,  I am not blogging. To much complaining! Once again I need to stress the point I HAVE NOTHING TO WHINE ABOUT! Which leads to the question, "What the heck is my problem?" Well the list is plentiful but in the long run it has come down to priorities. This little blog has just not been a priority. Instead I spend my limited free time engrossed in a challenging game of Suduko. Yes, friends I have abandoned my blog for Suduko. ...

Slam!

So I have been wondering if any of you experience the first of the month slam. If you do, you know exactly what I am talking about. For some reason the first week of our month is always the busiest week of the month. Add to that the final week of class, a term project, and what we have is chaos and a growing ulcer. Okay, well I don't have an ulcer but if I did the first of the month would be bad. Now I sound like I'm being a big whiner. I'm not whining I just can't believe how crazy busy life can get. Just for the record I feel like this the first of every month. I am even willing to bet if you look at when I disappear away from this blog it correlates with the first of the month. Then by the end of the month life isn't so busy. It is weird. Hence, the first of the month slam! The strange thing is, even though I'm total home body, and I love being at home having NOTHING to do. It is kind of fun running here and there watching the kids do there things...

No Thanks, I'm Pretty Comfortable Here

Another week, another class with a teacher I'm not sure I'm going to survive. Well, more than likely I'm going to survive. Having a teacher that wants you to do hard things will not in fact kill you. This "teacher," feels that it is good to draw us out of our comfort zone. He asks impossible questions. Questions that our personal. I explained to him after class that frankly the answers to the questions were, "None of his business." I really did say this I was a little upset with him. So, the thing is the teacher is from Belgium. He is one of those super intelligent people. He has broken through the ceiling several times over his life. So in his, ever to be, not so humble opinion, there is no reason that we should not break through our own ceilings. But I like my ceiling. It is a very well constructed ceiling, it is perfect, and just exactly where I want it to be. Why should I break my perfect ceiling? According to "him," becau...

Life is Changing

I have decided that I have officially entered a transition period. Transition periods lack excitement. However, transition periods are full of anticipation. Transition periods make me itchy, they stir up all kinds of icky, nervous, feelings. It has been awhile since I went through a major life transition. There have been a few, but the last major transition was the nine months before I became a mom. The whole nine months where you work, prepare, and wonder what is going to happen. Wonder what life is going to be like? Wonder if you really have what it takes to make it work? Then I became a mom and the whole wonder was over, and there was just day-to-day life. Oh, and the miracle of actually making it work. At least I think I (well, Brent and I) have made it work. I have four pretty great kids and most days I am pretty darn happy with this life I have. I will even go as far as to say I am pretty darn blessed. I looked up the word Grateful in the thesaurus and all of thos...

Happy V-Day!

I'm sitting here with only a few minutes before we have to head to a basketball game. Al's games are normally at 8 or 9 at night. So not fun! Well the time. Basketball rocks! Umm.. okay truthfully basketball is not my favorite sport and if it wasn't for the Exercise Diva I would have no clue what is going on. I'm pretty sure that she is going to buy me a rule book one of these days. I'm learning I will get it one of these days. Promise! It might not be the most romantic way to spend Valentines but I can't think of anywhere else I would want to be. Happy V-Day Everyone! You know that I mean Valentines and not the freaky snake people when I say V right? XOXO Krissi

Second Grade Romance

I am now the mother of my fourth second grader. That is right I have seen three children through second grade and I am currently on my fourth. Second grade is an awesome year. The kids are reading and their learning is really taking off. Happily, all of my kids have excelled in the second grade. I was pretty sure I had this second grade thing down. Like I said THIS IS my fourth time through (well technically speaking I was second grader once upon a time so it is my fifth time through). Turns out I may have been a bit naive about second grade. Before I get to the current issue let's review. First up S. second grade. We had been living in Utah for a whole year and she was thriving. At the end of first grade she had completed all the levels of swim lessons and was now on the swim team. She loved swimming and her only goal was to have fun with her best swim pal Sophia and to beat Sophia's big brother in the pool. Stupid boy was not going to swim faster than her. S. was an...

New House Rule!

Oh my gosh! It is Wednesday and I am posting. Believe it or not but I miss ya guys when I'm not posting. I love your comments. Especially, my loyal commenters you make me laugh and feel grateful for this blogging world. I would promise to post more but ya'all know how that ends up. Today's post is all about a new house rule we have put in place. I have notice lately that I take life far to seriously. Yup, this is a new realization one that I have never noticed before (ya know I'm being sarcastic, right?). It is true, I rather paint than play. I really dislike amusement parks, and anytime I am doing anything that may seem fun, to the most of the world, I am thinking about what I should be doing. I do not enjoy the more light and frivolous side of the world. It works for me and lucky me it works for my hubby. So we paint walls and do yard work and avoid Disneyland. Shocking! The problem, I have noticed with taking life so seriously is I take EVERYTHING serio...
