Happy Birthday, Birthday, Christmas, Birthday

In the next couple of weeks life is going to get pretty exciting for our little family. On Friday we will celebrate the first of three birthdays.  Throw Christmas Eve and Christmas in there and we will have a whole week full of celebrating, gifts, good things to eat and whole lot of fun.

Our oldest will be celebrating her 12th birthday. I've spent the last few months dealing with all the changes she is going through.  She is shooting up like a weed.  I swear she goes to school and then comes home an inch taller then when she left.

I know, I say this all the time, but it really does seem like only yesterday that we brought this little thing home from the hospital.  It was amazing that Brent and I had become parents and had this wonderful little person as a daughter.  She has grown into an amazing person.  One thing that you might not know about S. is she is very lucky.  No, seriously I mean it she is a very, very lucky.  She wins contest all the time, she finds money all the time, and she is just one of those people that always seems to be in the right place at the right time.  Don't get me wrong she works hard and has accomplished many things working for it.  However, she has won many other things simply because she is lucky.  Brent and I always tease that one day we are going to take her to buy us a lottery ticket.

Happy 12th Birthday our Lucky Sports Chick

The next day we will be celebrating our second's 10th birthday.   He came into this world 3 weeks early but was kind enough to wait until S.'s birthday had passed. I tease all the time that his was the easiest of all my pregnancies, his was the easiest of all my labors, his was the easiest of all my deliveries (he was born 6.3 all the rest were in the high 8's).  Since then he has been the hardest at everything.

A. is a constant challenge.  The good kind of challenge the kind you know that at the end you will be a better, stronger person.  He is wicked smart and a natural observer.  He doesn't like to be taught he likes to watch and figure it out on his own.  I'm a yacker and a teacher so we are constantly butting heads.  Most the time because I want things my way and he is trying to figure out if my way is the right way. I know that his strength will serve him through out his life and I know one day that brain of his is going to take care of a very old lady.

Happy 10th Birthday Professor

We will take a little break from birthdays and celebrate Christmas. Our youngest birthday is the Sunday after Christmas. At my very first Dr's appointment the Dr. was figuring out my due date.  After a moment he looked up at me and said, "Your not going to like this but you are due December 25th." Brent and I immediately broke out laughing.  The Dr. looked at us confused and I said, "None of our children have come on their due date so that was the best due date we could have."

H. has been an absolute joy in our lives.  Most of the time he is very understanding that his mom still needs hugs.  Still needs to think he is little and still likes him to be with her. He is my constant companion, he goes to work with me, where all the life guards think he is a cool little kid.  He helps do chores and loves to work on projects with Brent. However, he can throw a mean tantrum and when in the mood expects everybody to do what he wants when he wants.  Which is the right of all youngest children. He will be celebrating his sixth birthday. Next year when he goes to first grade I am going to have to figure out what to do without him.

Happy 6th Birthday Little Man

Our Christmas Letter

Each year I send out a Christmas letter and the one thing that frustrates me more then anything about the letter is that I can not include all the pictures I would like. That and Brent's rule that the letter has to fit on one side of one paper. I have gotten pretty clever with font size and margins to keep this rule. All you that have read this blog know that I am a sucker for pictures. So this year along with mailing out the letters I am going to post the letter with pictures. YAY ! So fun having your own blog to torture people anyway you want. Our Christmas cards were sent out on Monday so here in all it's digital glory is the letter again, this time with pictures. (Beginning of Letter) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We hope that this letter finds you happy, healthy and enjoying the holiday season. If you are like us, it has been a little bit of a difficult year dealing with increasing prices and a budget that isn't quite stretching to meet every thing you want it to...

HI!

Back to the real world. After a week of spring break we are back to the real world.  Sometimes the real world is a little lame.  On the other hand having the kids home 24, 7.... Well, let's just say the real world aint that  bad. We had a fairly productive spring break. We were able to get a bunch of have to's taken care of. Al, Brent, and I made it into the eye doctor and will soon be sporting some new eyes. Glasses just keep getting cooler. My glasses are red with bling on the side and Al's are a very cool turquoise blue. Brent's glasses are a little boring, but being as this is his very first pair ever, we are breaking him into the eye glass world slowly. Brent and I also painted our room. Pictures coming as soon as I decide if I like the paint color. I broke away from our norm and painted the room gray. It is so different that I haven't decided if it is awesome or not. Definitely need to get some artwork on the wall.  This post is a little lame but mainly I just...

A Walk Through Our Fall Garden

We have had an absolutely beautiful fall. The weather has actually stayed unseasonably warm. While we have been busy canning and harvesting we have taken very little time to enjoy the flowers that are also enjoying the fall season.  So a couple of days ago I grabbed my camera and enjoyed a scroll through my flowers.  I Love this picture I swear it makes me think I can actually smell the rose.  Sadly this is a no name rose. I think we should name it don't you?   These little guys are from a start my friend gave me.  In fact my flower beds are a bloom right now with plants from her garden. These little gals make me think of quiet summer days.  They also make me want to finish reading "Anne of Green Gables," again.  Don't you think that Anne would love these little ones.  She would probably call them "Queen's of Fall," or something else romantic and fancy. These are mums and you should see the plant it is huge.  Again a start from a friend.  I think it is...
