Big Sigh

After a week of enjoying beautiful sunshine and warm weather it is raining. Add to the rain a very high chance of snow storms. I am so depressed that I can't even work up the strength to rant and rave.  So instead I am listening to what Willow calls cerebral music and working up a great case of the blues.

It is all very awesome.

Want to join in on the fun?  Shoot me a comment of your favorite, "I'm to sad to deal with life song."  I will try to track the video down.  By the end of the day we will have the ultimate today could have been better song list.

Fun right! Okay, whatever it gets me through the day so come on join in.

My fav happy song is Don't Worry Be Happy. I love this song. I have it on my ipod and I could listen to it over and over.

If you want to dance... well, then you need some EMF - Unbelievable!

If you want to chuckle in slight horror that someone would string together words that obviously don't belong together (yep, that sentence is miserable), then you need Love Me Dead. I can't remember who sings it... but it isn't the nicest of songs. However, when a song begins with "Love me cancerously," you know it is a classic.

I know that you are missing the sun and warmth that you enjoyed while here. Guess what, we are missing it too. Today we are overcast, coolish, and expecting a dust storm. See, you don't miss choking on the air, do you?

Okay. Don't make fun, and I don't think there is a video. But the song that I absolutely love, love, love is called "Whatever Happens I Love You" by Morrissey.

It's not a happy song, but it gets my mind off of whatever I am sad about and gets it on, well, ummm, something else. :)

Oh, if you really just want to wallow is despair, then you need some "Everybody Hurts." Isn't that REM? Maybe it was Depeshe Mode.... all I know is that about 4 measures into the song and I am nearly suicidal. Uff... painful little ditty.

If you need another song to chuckle, then I highly recommend "Girl with the Wandering Eye" by the Rugburns. The Rugburns are not for the faint of heart... if you are not careful, they can be exceptionally profain. However the lyric, "I made love to the girl with the wandering eye -- I think my baby's got a wandering eye -- hope my baby's gonna stay for a while." is funny on so many levels.

PS -- Russ would say you really shouldn't listen to my recommedations. HE finds the Rugburns too profain, and he has the biggest potty mouth I know.

PPS -- I am not the biggest Jewel fan, but the lead singer of the Rugburns wrote Jewel's break-out hit (I think the title was 'You Were Meant For Me'). Well... I think they co-wrote it. He sold her the rights to the song for a little, and she made MILLIONS with it. Not a bad deal for her at all.

I'm usually more the rage at the world type when it comes to music but I'll be the first to admit that I have a playlist of keep me sad and depressed so that I may wallow in my own dispair for a while. In light of recent events happening in my world this seems and appropriate list today.

Our Christmas Letter

Each year I send out a Christmas letter and the one thing that frustrates me more then anything about the letter is that I can not include all the pictures I would like. That and Brent's rule that the letter has to fit on one side of one paper. I have gotten pretty clever with font size and margins to keep this rule. Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. It is always nice to take time out and spend time with family and enjoy each others company. I am looking forward more than I can say to our Thanksgiving break. I wrapped up my diversity class good, bad, or indifferent it is done. YAY! Reflections is all but done. This year we had 130 projects submitted three years ago when I started as the Reflection chick we had 9 projects submitted. It almost brought me to tears seeing all the kids projects and their creativity. So very awesome and soooo much work. The economy is looking a tiny bit better and it looks like we may get a little good news in the coming months. That will be a welcome break. All in all I have to say things are looking up. The Kids Today

S. is now 11 years old and is counting down the days until she turns 12. She is in the fifth grade and says math is her favorite subject. She stays pretty busy with swimming and soccer. This past year in addition to a regular AYSO team she has been competing on an All Star Team. She has really enjoyed it and is really looking forward to a tournament that will take place in Hawaii this July. She still loves swimming and is still competing when she can. A. is 9 years old and is the professor of the house.  He is our silent man whose brain is in constant motion.  He reads and reads and reads and soon will read me out of house and home.  He enjoys video and computer games, and he loves playing sports.  In January he made the city swim team and continues to play soccer, basketball, and anything that I let him.  Al will soon be eight.  As in next week soon.  The best part of school she says is 3:25 when pressed for a better answer than that she say...
