“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” Dr. Seuss
Do you ever get that deep down in your belly giggly feeling? That feeling that makes you chuckle, it makes a smile spread from one ear to the next? It is such a great feeling that the whole world seems ten times better.
Do you ever get that deep down in your belly giggly feeling? That feeling that makes you chuckle, it makes a smile spread from one ear to the next? It is such a great feeling that the whole world seems ten times better.
I don't know what you call that feeling but I call it my, "Happy Place!"
One of the quickest ways I get to my happy place is to smell dirt. Humid, green, nursery dirt. That smell you smell when you walk into a nursery greenhouse. I love that smell. I wish they made a perfume that smelt like that smell I would wear it all the time.
When people would ask, "WHAT IS THAT SMELL?" I would say, "Oh it is my perfume it is called SPRING!"
Currently my front room smells like that smell. Because my husband built a tiny little greenhouse. Here is a pic:
As you can see all he did is put some shelves on a table in front of our bay windows that get all the afternoon sun. Brent then wrapped them in a painters tarp. Leaving plenty of breathing room.
It is quite the fashion statement. The newest rage in home decor.
Want to know what is under that tarp?
NO! I'm going to tell you anyways.
There are 8 (eight, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8!) trays of seedlings. Fifteen types of flowers! There are Hollyhocks, Painted Daisy's, Columbine, Snapdragons (store bought and seeds harvested from last years Snapdragons, more on that later)Marigolds, Marigolds, Marigolds, Marigolds, (WHY? So many Marigolds, read this post)English Daisy's, Cosmos, Zinnia, Larkspur, Tritoma, Delphinium, and Morning Glory.
Can you say, "HAPPY!"
It gets even happier than 8 trays of seedlings. The seedlings are seeding! Which means we have tray after tray of little green sprouts. It is pretty darn cool.
Trust me.
If that wasn't enough to make this garden girl happy. We have spring flowers in our yard.
We have theses tiny yellow pretties.
Everywhere you look there are more spring flowers poking out.
Our lilacs is budding everywhere
Which means pretty soon instead of the smell of dirt making me happy. The smell of lilacs will have my nose outside attached to the lilac bush.
All I can say is I am really enjoying this happy place right now. Do you want to come join me?
