Greatest Kids Ever!

"Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple."

Dr. Seuss

My kids are pretty great. No, really they are in fact I don't mean to offend anyone but they are probably the greatest kids on the planet. I'm pretty sure they're the cutest kids too. Hey why I am at it why don't I just add the smartest, most athletic, most wonderful kids ever.

Huh?

What?

That is just the mom in me talking?

No way! It is all true every last word of it.

I see that you aren't going to believe it. You probably think your kid is the cutest, smartest, most wonderful kids ever.

I will have to think about that but I am pretty sure you are wrong.

Well even though I believe I have the most wonderful kids ever I have started noticing a shift.

A tiny little shift.

A barely there, can hardly even notice it, shift.

Basically a shift in which they think they are smarter than me. They think they know more than me. Apparently reaching the age of two digits officially makes you smarter than everyone.

Add to that two digit age a handful of hormones and you have smarter than everyone and attitude.

It is a little annoying.

Even more annoying than some lady on the Internet saying her kids are better than everyone's kids.

What I can't figure out is why these double digit children think there smarter than everyone!

The funniest thing in church on Sunday regarding one of your said children, a certain 10-year-old boy. He was up leading the music with a fireman's hat on and Schery took his picture and he totally posed for her. Clint and I looked at each other and laughed. I was like, he is used to pictures isn't he. It was so cute! He might be the cutest 10-year-old boy on the planet, but I have the cutest 10-year-old girl. :)

Um... double digit kids think they are smarter than their parents because they *are* smarter... duh.

=)

Good luck with those teenagers and 10 year-olds. Oh, why is it that 7 year-old children think they are smarter than their parents? I know my 7 year-old has not yet passed me in intellectual prowess.

I totaly remember the days when I thought my parents just did not get it. My friends were more important and they were dumb. If only I had known. They will figure it out some day. If only we could all parent like the phelps. Man those kids are pretty amazing.

Our Christmas Letter

Each year I send out a Christmas letter and the one thing that frustrates me more then anything about the letter is that I can not include all the pictures I would like. That and Brent's rule that the letter has to fit on one side of one paper. I have gotten pretty clever with font size and margins to keep this rule. All you that have read this blog know that I am a sucker for pictures. So this year along with mailing out the letters I am going to post the letter with pictures. YAY ! So fun having your own blog to torture people anyway you want. Our Christmas cards were sent out on Monday so here in all it's digital glory is the letter again, this time with pictures. (Beginning of Letter) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We hope that this letter finds you happy, healthy and enjoying the holiday season. If you are like us, it has been a little bit of a difficult year dealing with increasing prices and a budget that isn't quite stretching to meet every thing you want it to...

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. It is always nice to take time out and spend time with family and enjoy each others company. I am looking forward more than I can say to our Thanksgiving break. I wrapped up my diversity class good, bad, or indifferent it is done. YAY! Reflections is all but done. This year we had 130 projects submitted three years ago when I started as the Reflection chick we had 9 projects submitted. It almost brought me to tears seeing all the kids projects and their creativity. So very awesome and soooo much work. The economy is looking a tiny bit better and it looks like we may get a little good news in the coming months. That will be a welcome break. All in all I have to say things are looking up. Which brings me to my thought for the day "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." ~John Fitzgerald Kennedy My greatest hope for this holiday season is that I can live by the spiri...

Hip Hip Hurray, Tomorrow is PIE Day

Well in a little less then 24 hours I am going to have to reset this counter.  I can hardly believe that it says 30 days.  I have to tell you I never thought I would make it this many days I really thought I would have to reset it at some point in time. It has been a huge motivation for me knowing that you guys are watching the counter.  Also, knowing that even if you didn't catch me in the time allowed you would see that I punked.  That I didn't have the self control, not to eat sugar. Every time I would think of eating a goodie, I would think about reseting the clock.  I would wonder who was online, I would wonder if I would get caught, I would wonder who would catch me.  By the time I got through thinking about all of that I would decide the treat wasn't worth it. Another motivation has been my kids, who have said, "Mom you don't have to reset the counter no one would know."  I wanted them to see that  I could be honest and not do something I shouldn't ...
